John Anderson teilt das Los all jener Country Sänger/Sängerinnen, die schlicht zu gut, zu traditionell - kurzum "too country" sind. Hört man seine Musik von Anfang der 80er Jahre bis heute, dann entdeckt man mit Leichtigkeit in seinen Aufnahmen jene Country-Größen wieder,  die Nashville heute nicht mehr mag. Also mag man auch John Anderson nicht mehr - er ist too country. Seine Stimme erinnert und ähnelt jener eines seiner Vorbilder. Doch nicht nur das: Er phrasiert gelegentlich wie der leibhaftige Lefty Frizzell. Etwas was mir insbesondere auffällt, weil es Ol´ Lefty konnte wie kein anderer in seiner Zeit, dieses "äyjäyjäy"  ist unnachahmlich, es war sein Markenzeichen. Hören Sie sich mal seine klassischen Aufnahmen der frühen 50er Jahre an. Und dann hören Sie mal rein in John Andersons Aufnahme "Money In The Bank". Sie verstehen sicherlich, was ich meine. Herrlich, diese Aufnahmen von Lefty Frizzell. Wunderschön, daß einer heutzutage so singt. Traurig, wie Nashville sein Talente  links liegen läßt. Hauke Strübing
